Post subject: | 0.49 Railhouse : got mem error..?? |
Hi all! Thanks for this Linux Support Forum ![]() I run debian sid, I never had trouble with 0.48 release and previous.. But since .49 I got a problem, only when the map "Railhouse (detroit, usa.. blah)" is loading. I can see the trailer picture of the map, but the progress bar remains empty then, It switches back to the console with this error: Code: Sys_Error: recursive error 'Hunk_AllocateTempMemory: failed on 1064652' after: Hunk_AllocateTempMemory: failed on 1048632 Shutdown tty console I got 1,5 Gb ram. Its a vaio laptop with nvidia. Nvidia driver: 1.0-8774 (latest available from nvidia) x.org version : 1:7.1.0-1 (latest in the debian sid) lspci tells us whats card it is: Code: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV43 [GeForce Go 6200 TurboCache] (rev a1)
(I think it has 64mb but not sure tough..) I run KDE environment, with Alsa kernel 2.6.16-2-686 (no -17 or -18: got wifi issues with it (not tested -18 yet)) If I dont give enough info, please tell me what you'd like to have.. Thanks a lot for any help ! |

Its a hardware dependent problem. meaning even people with weaker or stronger systems then you are still get the same problem. Some systems have a working fix by changing the value for /set com_hunkmegs 256 (or any number trial and error), but it doenst work for everyone. Stickies are in General Support section. |

Post subject: | ok, Sorry! |
Ok, sorry guys.. I assumed with was a Linux issue or something weird with me only.. I didn't not searched long enough in the forums ![]() Since Im an experienced Linux user, don't hesitate in asking me what file or thing to do to help you debug. I can grant you an ssh account to, lets say in a chrooted environnement with True combat in it? Or just stracing-it may be helpful? Feel free to ask me. Thanks a lot |
