ive A idea to make TCE sort of A stand alone game, but to do this TT really really needs A good programmer in the team. cause if not... it could end up with allot of errors. this is how the idea go's when people install ET, TCE should be automaticly installed after ET is installed, so this will look like TCE is A stand alone game, but i have my doubs if it still would be legal, there is not much changed tho, the only thing thats changed is that evrytime people installed ET, TCE would be automaticly installed. if this could be done, we can have more and mroe people playing on the servers, and there will be nomore confusing for new people, especially for the one,s that dont have much knowledge bout computers, it will make things A hole lot easier. |

Actually, it is not possible in the legal sense to repackage a game a distribute it with changes. what were doing here is were giving out an addon which does not affect the original product's own distribution. What we can do to simplify the install process is have a new installer that already has been patched so that people wont come here or the TCE.main forums asking about the same problem. (perhaps a sticky about installing TCE, especially .48, properly) |

I think they need to pruchase a license/contract to do something like that. Though that will be a good idea to have it as standalone, the only obstacle is that it will cost TT and G6 some loot. We could start a fundraiser, but its unlikely we'll be able to raise enough money to get a (thats "a" dev license, each devteam member needs his own as far as I know) dev license. the license allows them to have copyrights and all that stuff that comes with it. |

AIDZ wrote: How do I install TCE ??? And what is TCE test? this 1 of the 6000000 new players that dont know how to install tce, asking for some people to help him out on the main.forum, there are allot of people that really dont have knowledge about computers/files, games, installing a mod is quite complicated for those people, some people find it easy, some find it complex, if the devs made people download the hole package, and made people just install evrything once, to be able to play tce, that would make things more easier for people that dont have knowledge about these stuff, way better than letting people download the files 1 by 1 why does microsoft's window's have more user's than macintosh linux, ect. ect. even if the program is kind of crappy, because its extremely user friendly, so if this mod whas more user friendly, there will be more and more people playing this game, wich means, full server list! |

you still a little bitc... i mean a little kid, you shouldnt sepose to say *i-need-a-broader-vocab* its not exactly illegal, i know a program that allows you to install like 8 different anti virus/spyware programs, they bundled 8 different programs in 1, and they did it legally, so theres is a posibility to make this legal, |

Im sure the next version will be easier to install. Sure, I was hoping that when Q3 went open source that TCE and Urban Terror would be stand alone games, but its not going to happen. I just cant wait to get the next TCE on the ET engine. Its taking too long the way it is, lets not ask for a big change now. ![]() |

yep. and that one guy was really dumb. click three or four icons, say "next" a billion times, and it's done. again, I'll get an EULA excerpt on packaging in whole or in part without written consent. |

The install instructions were written as clearly as possible. When 049 is out, we might try to make the install instructions universal throughout all TCE networks. |
