We are thinking of having some sort of community contest with a modest prize. While I already have a few ideas in mind of what to do, I thought I might as well ask the community what you think would be a good contest idea. The goal is to increase activity in this community while doing something fun. Several things in mind I have come up already were: 1. The basic stuff: Best logo, wallpaper etc 2. Some sort of site scavenger hunt contest (ie, have a clue each week and whoever can solve it at the end first wins). I personally like both ideas but am leaning towards #2 because it doesn't exclude community members who aren't very good with graphics. Anyway, please post your ideas! |

The wallpaper contest would be good.. I can be a judge for the contest... lol. Porbably site staff has to bee exempted from this and only the memebers would join. The staff would then be the judges. We can give them 2 months to perfect their work then judge all at the same time on one day. But we have to keep everything anonymous as in they cant put their names on their work. So we need to find a way to authenticate their work to them. By not putting in their names judging will be fair. One of the staff has to be the one to to registry with the competitor numbers to mark the work, but he/she wouldnt be judging. |

I'll be a contestant in the wallpaper contest if I have time. If there's a certain date that I have to follow in order to get my wallpaper in I probably won't be able to do it. ~Silentcrisis |

I wouldn't mind being a judge, but that's all up to you and the other site faculty members. I'd much rather be a contestant than a judge though. ~Silentcrisis |

we were thinking a public voting poll in a temporary section. where work has to be forwarded to a registration officer then he will post it with a voting poll for all to use. |

why not have a contest of who has the most creative True Combat: version title, the current title is ELITE, why not change the name into something else, the one with the best version title name, will see his title on the next release, in my opinion, the TITLE should be the version number, so instead of, True Combat:Elite, it should be True Combat:0.49 why? because true combat is the main name, if you take a look at all the post's on this thread http://www.xfire.com/xf/modules.php?nam ... ic&t=22733 you'll see that most people name TCE, True Combat, instead of: True combat:Elite and no.. this will not confuse people, evrybody knows that 0.49 is only availaible for ET, and not Q3, is just a matter of time before evryone get used to it, check this thread thats related to this subject: http://www.truecombat.us/forums/viewtop ... 77&start=0 |

Heres how we palnned it so far. We will make an email address that will be controled by an anonymous staff member (Dont ask me, I wont tell you who because there isnt anyone yet). You will hvae to mail your work to that person and he/she will be in charged of making the poll post with a short piece about your work, you ofcourse will have to write that short peice. It should contain information about your work like what programs you used, how long it took, how much effort and any acknowledgments incase you need to, or a bibliographic statement, and simply just a description. These posts will be done in a temporary server where everyone will be able to vote for the works they want with a score from 1-10 (havnt decided.) Everyone on both TCE networks is invited to join. Temporary accounts will be made for those memebers from TCE.main so taht they can join the contest. The subject can be anything but we prefer that is help with the promotion of TCE 049. I will make the anouncement, eitehr me or Diane, once the final decisions have been made. Ofcourse dont forget we have prizes. (duh) |

uhh, for the wallpaper thing, I CALL JUDGERATING!!! I have yet to getphotoshop, and it'll take me about a month to get anything half-decent...

you could always use GIMPshop like I do. We'll try to see how many people we can get to join this. http://xenosilence.deviantart.com/ Check out my Deviantart page, I just started there so i havent got up much yet. Im formatting my pc on Saturday so I will certainly be on leave. I expect that itll only be for a day beacuse it should takr too long to get everything back up and running. Diane, we gotta choose a good date and time for the contest plus assign the registry and submissions officers, poll moderators, and the counting officials. Plus we need to announce this at the main site to get some more people to join, it wont look so good with just one group of small numbers from our community. |

If you want comic style, Marvel comics style of art is better than using manga for TCE. Their style is truely western and fits the theme for TCE, minus the capes and guys running around with their underwear over thier pants. |
