Post subject:  Manual for TCE

First of, we need a summary of content

----------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Installation guide for ET and TCE with patching methods
2. Game configuration guide
3. Performance guide for systems
3a. Graphics card setup and options and performance charts
3b. CPU and RAM
3c. Settings indepth guide
3d. Internet settings guide and .cfg file
4. Playing TCE (including server browser guide)
4a. Sides
4b. Weapons
4c. Armament Availability
4d. ROE
4e. Maps and thirdparty maps (downloading and installing manualy)
5. Legal Console commands
6. Facts about TCE
7. Links

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of these topics can be found in the general support and general sections.

As for graphics, I can try to crop up screenshots, so if anyone can get me some screenshots (your own not the release candidate screenshots) I can photoshop some nice formatting and manual design.

I can design the manual in Illustrator but putting it together into a PDF file might be an issue since I dont have Pagemaker to make PDFs. I suppose there is someone else here who can. What I can do is make and prepare the graphics that is no problem.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Any suggestions?

For 1. I suggest taking Gator69's guide and modifying it for .49

Problem is we know very little details about 049. Only the gameplay is the same we still dont know how it will run in our current systems.

for intallation:

1. download ET and the v2.60 patch from one of the mirrors on TC.com, or TC.us, or even from the splashdamage website.
2. d/l TC:E v0.46, and patch

I'll go in-depth later. I've got too much to do so far. I'll see what I can

Yea I agree - except make it maybe more noob friendly. A lot of people can not understand English too well - so the less txt with more pics - the better, IMO.

Yeah, more pictures would be great.

We will request the types of pictures we need for the guide and you can send them to us, and we'll do the rest from there.

Also, Xeno... Is Melmoth going to assist us in the creation of this guide?

the more hands the better. I can begin with the graphics for the manual to make it look attractive. One of us has to get an ISO for Adobe Pagemaker and all the necessary PDF making software and drivers (yes drivers). If possible, try sending them to me if you dont already have prior experience in using them. I can try finding the little guide I made for the installation, it is somewhere in the general support or in florida. That sounds simple enough but would be good if we can supply screenshots of the step by step.

As for system cionfiguration we need several desktop setups. Each of us has a different setup so we can and must help each other writting it.
