So, you want to play in NC09? Then here is a brief guide on what to do.
Joining a team
1. Check out the teams page (or
this thread) to view which nations are participating. Is yours listed? Great. What you need to do now is...
2. Contact the captain listed for your nation to show your interest. Make sure to ask for a tryout and try to follow the captain's instructions (ie if they want you to idle on ts, add them to xfire, fw with them etc). Captains are looking for active players they can mesh well with skill/attitude-wise.
Registering for Nations Cup (not valid until July 31st)
If you make the cut (remember there are only a maximum of 10 player slots per team), then what you need to immediately do is register for the tournament.
Your captain will provide a link for you to do this (starting July 31st).
On the registration form, you will be asked the following:
a) Your in-game player name (no clan tags please)
b) The nation you are joining
c) A contact method (email, xfire, etc)
d) Your IP address
e) Your player GUID
If your GUID/IP changes anytime throughout the tournament, you will need to submit your new information to the administrative staff ASAP to continue participating
How to find my IP/GUID
Player GUID
1. Start the game
2. Open console
3. Type: /pb_myguid
4. [OR] Manually copy the whole GUID (total of 32 numbers and letters)
4. [OR] Type: /condump shit.txt
5. Goto your game folder: C:\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\tcetest (or where ever you installed it)
6. Open shit.txt with Wordpad or any other text editor (notepad looks messy but works too).
7. In edit menu choose find and search for: GUID=
8. Copy the GUID (total of 32 numbers and letters following the equals sign)
