I've had a few cases when I've been Flash Banged while aiming at a doorway/corner whatever. I usually start blindly firing a few seconds after it happens, then switch to secondary and emptying it. If nothing else, it should discourage the person from entering and I've gotten lucky once or twice.

Also, I've been FB'd and was able to run away or get behind cover and duck because I know approximately where I am and how much I turn when I move my mouse.

What I'd suggest is that when you get Flash Banged, and you're close enough that you're actually blinded, your facing gets altered, perhaps as much as 90 degrees. Even a 45 degree turn would disorientate people enough that they couldn't simply act the same way as they normally would, except blinded (like I try to when I'm blinded).

Also, it would be nice if people spectating through your eyes also get blinded, perhaps some env var to make it optional so it doesn't mess up people trying to make movies with replays if they don't want 3 seconds of white.

But i agree, i think FB's should totally disorient you. Ive never been flashbanged personally (and i SERISOULY doubt anyone here has), but i have talked to a couple people who have, and they say it messes you all up, totally disorients you and all your senses, it doesnt just blind you and deafen you. Kinda like in Rainbow 6:3, its all blurry and fuzzy and weird. Thats kind of how i would imagine it would be like. The people that have been flashbanged say they never want it to happen again, i think some said they felt like they were going to puke. Its a lot worse than people think, but at the same time its not terrible. Id rather be flashed than fragged

Youve never been flashed? Ive been flashed tons of times. Flasbangs are very effective if you know what your doing. I love FB'ing a room and then casually strolling in to pop a few caps in people heads while they are aimlessly firing about, prone, or running into a wall.

What makes me mad is when people manage to flash you so well, your blinded for 3-10 secs and then they dont follow it to kill you! I should be happy, but how could you pass a chance up like that!!??!?!

Quite sure H22aLude was talking about actually being flash banged, in the "Real World".

The code for minor reticule knock exists, you've seen it if a frag goes off near you. If the amplitude of this were increased (and your facing doesn't return to the starting point), it should work for what I'm talking about here. Or newer and simpler code could be written, no need to jitter about when you're blinded.

I dont see anything wrong with the way it is now...it gets the job done.
