I dont really mind campers. Sure it gets annoying, but their fun to kill.(or try to kill for that matter. In TC:e you always have to make sure your "good"making sure the coast is clear is essential to your survival. I think campers add an extra edge.

my suggestion: learn to deal with them. you (people in general) arent any good unless you can deal with and counter your oppenents strategy. they dont bother me one bit. just flank them. and be careful, dont run around like rambo. check everywhere.

I agree with a starter of this topic and I would like to propose something (as always, lol.).

Look. I don't mind campers in tournament/league/ladder games but I certainly hate when somebody is camping in "regular" games.

I'm taking competitive game-play very seriously and same as in real life We should adapt to the current situation the best We can.

On the other hand, when I'm playing regular games I'm doing it just for sake of having some fun and I hate when someone is ruining that for me or the other people.

Therefore my proposition would be to implement some "camper-penalties" for regular games and to leave it as it is for competitive games - if possible of course.
Or even better - to implement this as server sided option so server-admin can decide whatever he/she prefers.

By the end ask yourself; "What would this game look like if both teams would just camp near their extraction points and wait for opposition to come across?

its a simple tactic. i think people blow it out of proportion. just find a way to counter it. i ONLY play to have fun, thats why im not in a clan. i play whenever i feel like. and camping and spawnkilling doesnt bother me at all. to me it makes it more fun, more of a challenge to find a way to counter their attacks. maybe to make the game fair we should all just line up and charge at each other like in the old days. everyones usuing the same tactics there.

It's not an "action game" it's and action-REALISM game.

Camping is a valid, realistic tactic.

(In fact "camping" is the very nature of GOOD defense)

It's your server, you provide it, you can of course do what you like.

btw: somtimes i leave my computer after i respawn; for a drink, or the bathroom. that takes more than 15 secs.

plus if your camping your still active. your still moving, the inavctivitey kick will only kick temporary AFK's. theres never a problem with AFK's in TC:e any way.

I suggest you find a better way of monitoring campers, The bani modon RTCW has a good way of doing it.

I avoid servers that are all spammy rambo style gameplay.

In fact thats why I don't play vanilla ET at all.
If I wanted to play with a buch of idiots running around at top speed all the time, I'd play Quake 3.

Are there any US servers that run OBJ that always have people in them? I only see mainly 1, sometimes 2 US servers that always have people in them but they are both BC. <TCF> used to run an OBJ server that always had people in there all the time back in the day, then it just died. So i started playing BC, which gets old, and is almost completely boring now. I cant wait for the VIP mode and some other modes.

I'm about to reverse my opinion and vote that BodyCount be removed.

It seems it was VERY close to happening with .48 but was put back in at the last minute.

TDM (bc) has always been my least favorite respawn mode anyway.

How can you get rid of BC? its the most essential part of the game. Bc should never be taken away, even if 100% of the people who play hate it with a passion.

I seriously cannot wait for VIP. I played the swat 4 demo for a while an it was all VIP. I loved it. Only some idiots always shot him. I hate it when people do that.

About campers, I think you should just learn to deal with them and your making a huge fuss about nothing. I play for at least 2 hours a day deal with campers all the time sometimes I get them sometimes I don't. It's a vaild tactic and if you don't like it well tuff titty's (can I say that =X). Anyways Gators got my vote for removing bodycount completely.
