I loaded on all the files and they all loaded properly and it says

GLW_StartOpenGL ( ) - could not load openGL subsystem

Give me the full error report and I might be able to help you. I stress the word "MIGHT".

I rarely encounter errors but often know what and what not to do if they occur.

ok thx right now im speaking on my friends behalf becuase he isnt on right now but ill tell him to send the full error message

I believe that error may have something to do with OpenGL incompatibility or possible corrupted drivers. If your card is suppose to support openGL, and it says it wont work, try to reinstall the card and update your driver (NVidia Forceware or ATI Catalys). If it still doesnt works, try updating or reinstallig DirectX, it may have gotten corrupted as that happens sometiems with dirvers. (remember to turn of antivirus before installing new graphics display drivers, either vcard or dx)

If it still doesnt work, contact your hardware vendor, or where you bought your videocard and tell them the problem. An OpenGL supporting card shouldnt have any problems like that, especially with an old game like ET.

Or even turning 3D accelaration on. In windows this is pretty hard not too unless you have some incompatible drivers but within Linux the 3D Acc isn't always turned on.

DirectX shouldn't be a problem as this is just a Windows only gfx platform and is not used for the graphics rendering within ET. For cross platform OpenGL was used instead.
